Cleveland Heights Speedskaters:
It has been great to see you on the ice this year. Whether you are a new skater or a returning veteran it is the goal of CHSC to keep you involved in the sport and with each other for the two months that we are off the ice. To that end:
Your continued participation in this sport requires off ice preparation, fitness and strength training in the form of pre-conditioning and dry land workouts. CHSC is proud to support a coach-developed off-ice fitness program. It is mandatory to participate in dry land this year in order to participate in the August US Speedskating sponsored two-day clinic held at our rink.
The amount of effort you put into summer base training, which including pre-conditioning, is directly proportional to the gains you will make when you get back on the ice.
PRECONDITIONING: Open to CH skaters, new skaters, CH skater parents and 10+ year old siblings interested in skating
Objective: Developed for the beginner to prepare for the higher-intensity dry land work out. We will establish a warm-up routing, aerobic base, stretching, introduction to terminology, static exercises, balance work, strengthening & drills.
