This year dry land will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 7 to 8:15pm through August on the grassy hill next to the ice rink. If weather is inclement, we move indoors so this is rain or shine training. Families are encouraged to participate even if you do not skate. It’s a great all-around work out.

For newer/younger skaters, Coach Nicole is recommending one night a week. Monday will be the designated one-night-a-week option but if you can’t make a Monday, You are welcome on Thursdays. If you are questioning whether your child is ready for dry land training, please email Coach Nicole or myself.

Bring a towel and/or a yoga mat along with plenty of water.

Coaching costs are $100 per family or $75 per skater. Checks are to be made out to Cleveland Heights Speedskating Club:

SUMMER CONDITIONING & DRYLAND
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

*Note:  These requirements are in place for the health, safety and well being of the participants.

 Summer training is outside in the heat and humidity, which can pose very real dangers to young children.

 GENERAL:

Must be at least 10 yrs old AND participated for one full speedskating season with CHSC or other club.

 ALL OTHER LIMITATIONS AND EXCEPTIONS ARE AT THE COACH’S DISCRETION.

 We will begin promptly at 7 pm.  Please arrive a few minutes early.

 Bring yoga mat or towal & water bottle.  Be sure to wear appropriate athletic wear and tennis shoes (w/good support) for running, isometric and plyometric exercises. Its also a good idea to have sunscreen and insect repellent on hand.

 Important:  Anyone who is asthmatic, please notify coach and make sure you have your inhalers with you.

Anyone severely allergic to bees, please notify coach and please have your EPI Pen available.
